I doubt that Yahoo is a source of information for US surveillance agencies. It's too erratic. The respondents are usually quite young and monitoring such a site wouldn't be productive. Since working as an civil rights and anti-war activist in the 60s and70s, I've been "surveiled". It's more of a harassment thing, that an info gathering thing. My phone conversations are often "tapped", my utility bills are frequently 3 days late, and have been crudely opened. What they think they will learn from a 75 year old retired mechanic is beyond me, but I think, after all these years, I'd miss them if they forgot about me.

Don't worry about Yahoo. Your GPS equipped devices are much more of a threat, to your privacy.

Source(s): Anti-war, hippie, eco-terrorist, socialist, union member, retired, entitled, and still givin' the "man" a bad time.

They'll be electronically scanning and looking but it doesn't concern me when it comes to an open forum like this.

I'm much more concerned about the possibility that the NSA and such like is scanning my private communications. On principle more than anything else. The law enforcement agencies of my country can't routinely do that so why the hell should the security services of a foreign country be able to bypass the legal requirements that apply to my country.

No, because I know how NSA works (I've been there), and they have neither the time, money, inclination, personnel, nor legal authority to follow Yahoo Answers.
