Was the Son of God, the Jewish carpenter, a good man, insane, or a liar?

Pick from the three or just don't answer (ie if you think He didn't exist).

He could only be one of three things:

    - liar

    - lunatic

    - legitimate

I go for legitimate. Too much proves Him correct (ie prophecy) and no lunatic could have made so much sense and healed people as He did. History proves He did exist and so we must conclude Jesus was and is the Son of God just as He claimed.

He could not be just a good man.

All Historical accounts confirm His existence. We have physocal proof of his brother ☜(translantion likely cousin even kin as any relitive because Mary had no other children)James who though at 1st questioned Him but after he encountered Jesus post his public execution obviously joined the

"new Christ" movement that turned Rome upside down. Saul of Tarus was a Jewish leader who was executing had actual "warrents" to do so& the followers of Yeshua of Nazareth who were so willing to die opposed to deny His resurection even drove Saul to more hatred towards them. Only God could of changed a man historical accounts loint to his "loosing his mind/going insane."

Nothing on earth could of changed a man so set on destroying the very movement he joined and subsequently sought on destroying/abolishing from the face of the earth.

False trichotomy. You ignored another possibility, and the most likely one:

There was no "son of god," and the stories about such a thing are entirely made-up myths.

By the way, ripping off the irrational CS Lewis without attribution is a "sin." Oops.

Jesus was probably a real person. Not the son of "god", but real. He was probably trying to spread his belief by claims he was "god's" son. I don't think he was a bad person if he truly believed he was the son, so that would make him a good, insane man. Or he was a liar, trying to spread his beliefs or just cause a ruckus. Either way works.

    Need more information

Which son of God do you refer to?

Exodus 4:22 And you shall say to Pharaoh, 'So said the Lord, "My firstborn son is Israel." '

23 So I say to you, 'Send out My son so that he will worship Me, but if you refuse to send him out, behold, I am going to slay your firstborn son.' "

Or are you talking about one of the Emperors?

perhaps Augustus or Domitian - who were both formaly titled "son of god"

    =====

    EDIT -

    just read the other posts

    Oh! you're talking about Jesus.

Taking the New Testament at its word (since no other source exists),

he was most likely a generaly nice but insane fellow subject to bouts of rage.

    he was definitely "blameless"

insanity seems to be defined by each class of society.

the jewish leaders condemned him to full of wine, even his disciples at pentacost. so it seems.

the bible describes christ as a man of many sorrows. which could be mistranstlated or misinterpreted as Deppression. having all knowledge is not always joy abundantly.

a man suffer because of external agendas. and not be insane, but many doctors might diagnose a man as mentally ill even if he is sane.

Is the Contrary Of Good Man equal to Insane

Is the Contrary Of Good Man equal to Liar Or

    I am Confused

If He Was God In The Flesh Why He Did Not Say It Himself ?

Did The Cells Of His Body Die As In Ordinary Human Beings?

IF HIS BODY DID NOT FUNCTION IN A TRULY HUMAN WAY, HE COULD NOT BE TRULY HUMAN AS WELL AS TRULY GOD. Yet, if his body functioned exactly in a human way, THIS WOULD NULLIFY ANY CLAIM TO DIVINITY.

It would be impossible for any part of God, even if incarnate, TO DECOMPOSE IN ANY WAY AND STILL BE CONSIDERED GOD. The everlasting, ONE GOD, in whole or in part, Does Not Die, Disintegrate, Or Decompose: ‘For I the Lord do not change.’ (Malachi 3:6)

Did Jesus’ flesh dwell in safety after his death?

Unless Jesus’ body never underwent ‘decay’ during his lifetime he could not be God, but if it did not undergo ‘decay’ then he was not truly human.

Bible says that God is not man

‘GOD IS NOT A MAN’ (Numbers 23:19)

‘For I Am God, And Not Man’ (Hosea 11:9)

Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible

‘A Man Who Has Told You The Truth’ (John 8:40)

‘Jesus the Nazarene, A MAN ATTESTED TO YOU BY GOD with miracles and wonders and signs which GOD PERFORMED THROUGH HIM in your midst, just as you yourselves know.’ (Acts 2:22)

‘He will judge the world in righteousness through A MAN whom He has appointed’ (Acts 17:31)

‘The Man Christ Jesus’ (Tim. 2:5)

The Bible says that God is NOT a son of man

‘God is not A Man nor a Son Of Man’ (Numbers 23:19)

    • The Bible often calls Jesus ‘A Son Of Man’ or ‘the son of man.’

‘so will the Son Of Man be’ (Matthew 12:40)

    • ‘For the Son Of Man is going to come’ (Matthew 16:27)

    • ‘until they see The Son Of Man coming in His kingdom.’ (Matthew 28)

    • ‘But so that you may know that the Son Of Man has authority’ (Mark 2:10)

    • ‘because he is the Son Of Man’ (John 5:27)

    • In the Hebrew scriptures, the ‘Son Of Man’ is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6-8; 3:1-3).

Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is NOT THE SON OF A MAN, then becoming a human being who was called ‘THE SON OF MAN’, he would not have done so. Remember God is not the AUTHOR OF CONFUSION. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called ‘SON OF MAN’ specifically to distinguish them from God, WHO IS NOT A ‘SON OF MAN’ according to the Bible.

The Bible says that Jesus denied he is God

Jesus spoke to a man who had called him ‘good,’ asking him, ‘Why do you call me good? NO ONE IS GOOD EXCEPT GOD ALONE.’ (Luke 18:19)

And he said to him, ‘Why are you asking me about what is good? THERE IS ONLY ONE who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.’ (Matthew 19:17)

The answer is in your question; The Son of God was . . . The Son of God. As to carpentry; there's no record He ever built anything besides His Kingdom. We could add "good man" to that to stay within the restrictions of your question.

And why can't I answer just because you don't want to know the historically accurate facts of the matter? That's confirmation bias which proves your "faith' is weak.

Jesus was fully God and fully man while He was among us. He told no lies, is the way, the truth and the life and is and was completely sane.
