what pain medication should my girlfriend take to stop her ankle from swelling up so bad?

Her ankle has been swollen for the past few days, and she's trying to get to the doctor, but in the mean time Tylenol and Ibuprofen isn't working to bring the swelling down or kill the pain. Would something like motrin work better?

She must sit or lay down and elevate the foot above her heart level. Put ice bag on the ankle for about 20 minutes. Wait an hour and do it again.

Naproxen Sodium works better than the other meds. Buy it under the name of Eleve or Naproxen.

DO NOT exceed the daily dose! Do not take it with any other pain kellers.

It depends on why her ankle is swollen. Has she tried putting ice on it and keeping it raised? And yes, if she is in pain, she may well need to take Motrin.

    Good luck!

Well, I think her ankle is sprained for sure. She need to put on compression wrap. It will heal faster because I went on urgent care one day when my ankle swell, they put me a compression wrap, it heals faster.

Get her to a doctor. She may have an infection which will not be cured by painkillers. She also may have problems with her archilles tendon .Just get her checked by a doctor.
