World is warming, the science is settled, we are told. How did 2013 do?

World is warming, the science is settled, we are told. How did 2013 do in terms of being a record warmer year. Yes I know there's over one month to go, but is it one of the warmest ever as the others were in 2000s?

Thank you.

    Looking at GISTEMP, it looks like the 4th warmest on record, with 5 years about equal to it.

    There is a .67 in 2010, .66 in 2005, and .63 in 2007. 1998, 2002, 2003, 2006, and 2009 are all either 60 or 61. So far 2013 is averaging a little over .59. If Sept number of .74 continues thru the end of the year, then the average is a little under .63.

    <Yes I know there's over one month to go>

    That's right. 2013 isn't over yet. That's why when you talk about the last 10, 15, 16, 17 or 20 years, I consider such periods to end in 2012.

    The world is warming. It warmed 0.8 C in the 20th century and I suspect it will rise about the same, maybe a bit more this century. I further suspect catastrophic global warming will join global cooling, nuclear holocaust, food shortages, water shortaged Y2K, and the second coming of Jesus Christ in the dustbin of failed doomsday scenarios.

    How the fck does Gryph get a thumbs down for giving a referenced empirical answer to a straightforward question? Maybe as a child they were traumatized by a gang of integers packing plus-minus signs.

    6th warmest according to Gary F and Gryph and their source, but I doubt it will hold up. Weather patterns are showing an even further drop in temperatures. October is looking to drop it further on the list.

    Wrong. The science is not settled. The earths temperature hasn't risen since 1998. Just because Al Gore wants your "green" money doesn't mean he isn't lying. The IPCC is his lapdog. NASA data supports this.

    It is not settle. Warming & cooling cyclical. Man has nothing to do with it.
