Do you know what Shaolin-Do is?
Funny how I was just looking through video of Baguazhang application and I eventually ran into this...

Someone asked a few days ago "why do people hate shaolin-do".
I never saw this deposition before, but in it you see that the "great grand master of Fukien Shaolin" put his foot in his mouth by suing the other fraud on Youtube "Jake Mace" for copyright infringement.
I'm so glad that this happened.
What are your thoughts?

After reading the entire transcript of the lawsuit, it is obvious that The' is a fraud. At no time when he was cross examined did he give a straight answer or one that he did not contradict later. His assertion that he changed the name of Shaolin kung-fu to Shaolin-Do because the Chinese were a persecuted minority in Indonesia is laughable. Following WW2, the most hated ethnic group in Indonesia were people of Japanese descent. So what does he do? He changed the name by attaching a Japanese suffix "-Do" to the name.
The only smart person to come out of this is The's lawyer who is getting paid regardless of whether they win or lose.

I have never heard of Shaolin-do before but when I saw this here, the first thing that I have noticed and as I see so many others have noticed as well, is the strange name....Shaolin-do..
Is like saying there is an art that Saddam Hussein and George Bush created together in 2004...That is not a very possible scenario. Because the relationship of Japan and China 70 years ago was even much much worse than this. Prior to this hm......difficult again. So it is quite difficult to believe that there is an art like that....

I saw the question too and decided not to answer it. The name bothers me too. He could have at least stayed in the same language if he was embarrassed about the Chinese part of his training and called it Shorin do. To someone who speaks two languages mixing languages in the manner he did is like listening to fingernails on a chalk board. That alone would set off red flags for me.
Other than that I really don't care. Everybody is responsible for what they are teaching and students are responsible for what they are learning. If someone likes Mcdojo and it is filling a need to boost their confidence, artificially as it may be, who am I to tell them they can't do it. There are many more illusions we tell people to believe from kindergarten on, like they can do anything they want to and that there are no limits, that mediocre is good enough and you can still pass a grade just like the smart kids, and that you can even give the wrong answer and it is OK as long as you can explain how you got to the wrong answer and the latest fad is winning by an overwhelming score is a no-no which creates the illusion for the loser that he does not really suck as bad as it looks. Insane, I know but people who live in a society with illusions are much easier to control. I don't have to do Shaolin do and I don't have to accept it, so it's all good. I don't hate it. We have a Shaolin do school in our town and I have seen their students and demos. I would probably not choose it for my training.

I'll look at his article later. I saw the first question and ignored it other than to read what a few people posted.
I'm with liondancer on this too. If someone like it no matter how bad it may be that is up to them. To me it is just like many parents lie to their children telling them about santa claus, the tooth fairy, and the easter bunny. I chose not to lie to my sons. I teach them not to lie to me so why should I be a hypocrite and lie to them. I believe I should be the first example.

Hi, Darth,
Sorry to borrow this thread to answer your another question, as I tried to message you back through the Yahoo Answers systems twice, but I don't think it is working for me (or for you)...
Regarding Hunyuan Tai Chi, I train under Master Wang Feng Ming in New Jersey. He teaches in NJ, NY, and CT. He is a disciple of Grandmaster Feng Zhi Qiang and has accompanied him on many Tai Chi training tours to Japan and other countries. He used to teach in Helsinki University in Finland but has immigrated to the States a few years ago. You can check out his website at http://www.worldtaiji.com./
Again, sorry for using this tread.

I had never heard of such a thing as that until that question.
Spotted the fake by the 2 languages. Says McDojo all over it.
The lawsuit is just silly.
I see I was correct to assume it was pure bunk rather than martial art.
This "who's a bigger fraud" lawsuit seems to suit them both.
