Butcher takes Hibs poisoned chalice?
With the exception of his time at Inverness, his managerial record has been patchy at best. Can the man in the bunnet and mac revive fortunes in Leith? My gut instinct is no.

A surprise move! He must have valid reasons for moving perhaps he thinks he has taken Inverness Caley as far as he can. It is surprising in some ways that Caley allowed him to meet with the Hibernian board in such a open-handed manner appearing to make little effort to retain his services.
There is obviously a mountain of a job to be accomplished at Easter Road and only time will tell if this is a good move all round.

not sure ,you have to admire el tel for leaving his comfort zone in inversnechy be a hard task ,the players that got Fenlon the sack will be a bit wary of Butcher ,think hed have known the squad was weaker than last year with Griffiths leaving

Daft move, he was doin a great job with ICT and probably had good job security, at Hibs he could be sacked before new year.

Butcher and caley thistle were a good fit, I don't think he will be so successful at hibs (in relative terms). he will do better than fenlon without being spectacular.

I think he will do alright, he has learned a lot with his time at ICT...I can see ICT vanishing if they put Levein in as gaffer..
