Can you microwave clothes in order to dry them?

I spilled water on clothing at work and we only have a microwave. I am the only one in the office after hours so not have my dress shirt on for a while is not a problem.

Of course not!. Microwaves heat the molecules not absorb them.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. I could start burning. You'd end up with burn marks, and that would be far worse than moisture. If possible, use absorbent fabric in the office and press it against your dress shirt to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. At least it's only water. Good luck with it.

Try a hair dryer. Luckily the emergency services are on speed dial for creative people such as yourself.

Not a good idea. Depending on the material it may melt or combust.
