Has anyone noticed that their restaurant receipt amount doesn't match their credit card bill later?
And it's always more than what I said it would be. I keep on noticing this, and it happens to me a lot. Why is that? It's why I'm starting to pay in cash at restaurants instead.
Yes, I am looking at the one with the tip. The bill I get later is almost more than the reciept with tip that I orginally signed almost 50% of the time. And at diffrent restaurants.
Joe and others, I don't leave the tip area blank. I fill in the tip, add the total, and then the credit card bill I get later is greater than the toal I put in. THIS KEEPS ON HAPPENING.

Every time you make a purchase with a credit card they get one signed copy and you get the other . This is not Rocket Science. Should the bill you receive in the mail not match the one you keep for yourself you contact the credit card company and they will make the proper correction . Also, be sure that restaurants don't already add a tip to their bill and you don't make a very common error of adding another when you total the bill.

Are you looking at the receipt that includes the tip amount or no. If you are just looking at the bill, the tip amount won't be on there. Is this happening at the same restaurant, or different ones?

The final total is never there. You gie the bill add a tip and then write the total in. sounds to me you leave the tip area blank. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME

Yes it has happened to me twice. So from then on I only pay cash when I dine out. No one will get me a third time. Cash is the only way to go so there will be no games played.

Maybe they are charging you taxes or charging you double for the tip.
Sometimes they can even charge you extra fees for using your credit card (say if your meal is below a certain amount).

yes cuz they first authorize just the amount of the food
then the bill comes in with the tip added on
so its a higher amount

I see you've mentioned you've been paying cash...
I was gonna recommend that just to be safe! Good Luck!
