Do you need to be 18 or older to buy mature games on Walmart? (Black Friday)?

For this black friday we were going to walmart to buy a tv, but then I saw they were going to have Battlefield 4 for $25 bucks. My plan was to be at the video games line and my mom to be at the tv line, but I'm 16, so does someone over 18 have to there so I can purchase the mature game? Thanks.

They'll ask for some form of ID to prove you are 17, as their policy states that they don't sell R-rated movies or M-rated games to anybody under the age of 17. Somebody who is over 17 would have to be with you in order to purchase the game.

There is a slight, slight chance that if you say that you forgot it, they may just ask for a birth date, in which case deduct two years from your DOB and say that. However, they are trained to ask for some form of ID that has at least your picture, name and birth date, and they can be terminated from their job if they are found to be violating that policy.

  • Yes, the register will prompt the cashier to ask for your I.D. and may need to also swipe it in order to allow you to purchase it.

  • you need someone over 17
