Am I addicted to caffeine?
I drink a lot of coffee, usually three or four cups a day. Usually my routine is something like:
1 cup of decaf for my drive to work.
1 cup of regular coffee with lunch.
1 cup of regular coffee driving home from work.
1 cup of decaf after dinner in the evening.
I read even decaf still has something like 3% caffeine content some of the time. The caffeine does not agree with my bowels (sorry for the details you didn't want) and so I know I should cut back on it to perhaps one or two cups per day. The thing is, I can't.
I thoroughly enjoy a cup of coffee (or four) every single day. I know it would be so hard to cut back on it because it is the best part of my day. I've heard people who are addicted to caffeine experience things like headaches, irritability, etc. when they don't get their 'fix.' I've never experience that.

You have a physical and psychological dependency.
Only you know if it is making life miserable.
I stopped coffee and had headaches for a couple days. If you do it, drinks lots of water.
I now enjoy de-cafe a few times a week I am not dependent on it.

If you really wanted to stop drinking caffeine, but can't (without help), that is an addiction.
If you just choose not to stop drinking caffeine for whatever reason, but could if you wanted to but you just choose not to even try, that is not an addiction.

No. You're only getting 95-110mg of caffeine twice a day. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just enjoy it.

JSBach......Lieschen drank coffee 3 times a day and that miniature opera is about coffee addiction. according to great music scholars, coffee is personified as Lieschen's lover.....and she vehemently demanded her coffee 3 times a day, and especially right before bedtime!
