What is the possible cause of vertigo upon waking?
After getting up this morning and walking to the bathroom my head began to spin and I felt like vomiting. I think it was vertigo but have never experienced this before.
I know what vertigo is but am more wondering why I would suddenly develop it out of the blue... Is it related to other illnesses, Heart problems, stroke, etc...

You could possibly have a middle ear infection. There is no pain associated with this. You do need to see a doctor for an antibiotic.

Could be an ear infection, If your inner ear is aggravated, you will be dizzy. See a good ENT (ear/nose/throat) doctor if it continues.
