Do you believe in fate/destiny or infinite possibilities?

My stance on this is a bit complicated.

I think that there is fate and destiny only up to a certain point. Then, infinite possibilities are mostly what life is made of. For example, a person (Gandhi as a random example) may be destined to lead a revolution against the British commonwealth in India but how he does it is up to him, so it's not fixed. For the romantics, the one you're meant to be with does exist and that love will prevail but what happens in between is completely random.

If that confused you, I apologize but that is how I feel about this topic.

I was wondering what you all think? Do you believe in fate/destiny or infinite possibilities?

Update:

@Michael sorry, I meant (Mahatma) Mohandas K. Gandhi, not Indira Gandhi if you were confused.

Ah, like most things, it's not as simple as one or the other. There's some luck - what family you are born into, what country, how intelligent you are, how tall, things like that, then most of the rest is what you do with it. I don't think there are infinitely many possiblities, but there are certainly a lot - some things are going to be out of our reach no matter what we do, but it might as well be infinitely many possiblities. They almost all require a lot of effort tho - some require so much that while we could do them, truth is, we won't. So it's a mix -

A bit of both, we do create our own reality in a way. but a lot of us do so subconsciously, that is beyond our awareness, so that could be percieved as fate/destiny. the same ability can be used deliberately to achieve goals. Infinite possibilities always exist and we are choosing them based on the thoughts we hold. how aware you are of the process depends on the level of consciousness. i agree on the fact that a general blueprint for our life probably exists but how we pursue it is upto us.

YES, but I think Gandhi was a female. Yes, there is fate in all our lives, thats why there's no reason to question it. Just live it as best you can. Mike

Infinite possibilities! The only limitations are the ones we ourselves impose whether consciously or unconsciously.
