Does happiness only really occur when you're distracted by something?

Loving someone, you're distracted from sadness by the infatuation you feel with the other, your friends, family, material possessions, nature, music, sports, when you take away all of these distractions, all of these causes to be happy and you have nothing to be happy FOR or ABOUT, happiness ceases to exist, doesnt it?

No because not all distractions make you happy. That's why they're called distractions and not happiness itself.

otherwise material and money is proven to not make you happy. Really happiness is based on the success of human relationships.
