I'm thinking about creating a sculpture and am deciding what media i should use. Not sure what the subject will be yet, but if anyone has some ideas i'd be much obliged if i could add them to my brainstorm :] ive considered using things such as bottlecaps, thumbtacks, crayons, etc, so the stranger the better, though something relatively cheap.

It seems to be that in settings such as yahoo answers, people are more likely to 'thumb down' other answers more than they are to 'thumb up'. Why is that? Do people just want their own answers to seem better by throwing other ideas under the bus? I mean if you were an OP scrolling through ten answers and you saw that an answer had like 4 negative votes, you probably wouldn't even read it or would have some potential bias based on what the general consensus appears to be. Many times too i hear people describing other people's flaws before they praise their positive attributes; why?

All in all, and in life in general perhaps, why do you think people judge others harshly or negatively?

Your personal opinion and reasoning as to why, i'd be really interested :)

Mine at the moment is a guy by the name of Andy Mckee. My reasoning, he's an incredible acoustic guitar player with the ability to create percussion, rhythm and melody parts at the same time. Songs of his include Drifting and Rylyn. He also has awesome metal chops. Check out his cover of the outro solo on Innocence faded by dream theatre! Overall an exceptional guitarist who really looks like he enjoys playing.

So yeah! Love to hear a multitude of opinions! Hendrix? Chet atkins? Dimebag? Van halen? Yngwe Malmstein? Randy Rhodes? Who's your fave and what makes them better than the rest to you?

Alright so my buddy from work is about 28ish and recently moved from India to Canada. Now, he's had a few good relationships in India but since movin here has had some trouble making friends and finding a relationship. He doesnt have many interests, play sports or listen to western music so finding common ground hasnt been easy. Whats more is he's worried that people not of his ethnic background will not find him attractive.

Any advice as to how he might be able to meet people interested in relationships would be much appreciated, he's looking for potential marriage candidacy so, probably no bar suggestions, i told him that and he kinda dismissed the idea of meeting people at a bar, with obvious reason, so, yeah. Thanks a lot, much appreciated!

Loving someone, you're distracted from sadness by the infatuation you feel with the other, your friends, family, material possessions, nature, music, sports, when you take away all of these distractions, all of these causes to be happy and you have nothing to be happy FOR or ABOUT, happiness ceases to exist, doesnt it?

SPOILER ALERT! In the end when you find out that the binle he is protecting is written in brail, are you then to believe he is blind? I mean, we see that his back is all burnt in the beginning of the movie, making it apparent he was caught in the "flash" that everyone refers to that blinded so many people. So was he blind the entire time as well? Making the significance of the movie that he was able to go through all of those fight scenes and walk all of those miles on faith? Im pretty sure, i just need some confirmation here, thanks!

It seems as though all of life's socialization comes down to a petty stupid ritual revolving around pleasing other people in order to foster pointless, selfish relationships.

Just curious to hear some perspectives. If you're just gonna say sex, thats nice, but, some things to give meaning when you're not doin that, maybe?
