PLEASE HELP! How to find a meaningful relationship?!?
Alright so my buddy from work is about 28ish and recently moved from India to Canada. Now, he's had a few good relationships in India but since movin here has had some trouble making friends and finding a relationship. He doesnt have many interests, play sports or listen to western music so finding common ground hasnt been easy. Whats more is he's worried that people not of his ethnic background will not find him attractive.
Any advice as to how he might be able to meet people interested in relationships would be much appreciated, he's looking for potential marriage candidacy so, probably no bar suggestions, i told him that and he kinda dismissed the idea of meeting people at a bar, with obvious reason, so, yeah. Thanks a lot, much appreciated!

If he's a member of a particular religion, surely there's a group in that same religion. Do a web search to find the closest temple or church, particularly when there's a holiday. There might even be a concert for classical Indian music. (Gandharva Ved.)
If he lives near a college campus, he might take at least one class. Then he could see if he could arrange his work schedule to go to a meeting of an international students club or an art opening at a gallery on campus, which might be at the end of his work day. Also, see if he would want to join a hiking club, a birdwatching group, an astronomy group, a group of gardeners, or something about one of his interests. He should meet as many people as possible, even if they're not someone he might marry because everyone knows somebody else & can introduce him to others. If he's fluent in English, he could attend a book discussion group. If he needs to work on his English skills, there might be a class for taking additional language study. However, the religious group might be his best chance to meet someone suitable for marriage or a relationship.
