Opinions: do you believe there is "the one" for you?
I want to know what other thought about having that special someone, specifically just one person? Or is there no such thing? Just gathering opinions.

My heart says "Yes, the one is out there!" My mind says, "Don't be a fool. How can that be if widows who were deeply in love with their deceased spouses begin a new love with someone else?"
Plato once said something interesting (I'm paraphrasing) "According to Greek Mythology, Humans were originally created with 4 arms, 4 legs, and a head with 2 faces. Zeus was afraid of the power they may have and split them into two separate parts. Condemning them to spend their lives in search of their missing halves". My heart thinks this is absolutely beautiful. My mind thinks its a nice thought but nothing else.
But lets forget my mind (she's kind of a downer). Pablo Neruda describes what I think being with the one would feel like. I want this...it's breathtaking...I want breathtaking =)
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

No such thing. There are several people out there who you could have a successful relationship with.

I think there are a lot of them because we are ever changing. I'm sure if I knew my husband when we were in high school, I wouldn't have liked him; he represented everything that I didn't like, lol. But he grew up and changed, I grew up and changed, and we came together perfectly.
I think "the one" is a myth perpetrated by Hollywood, but I do think you will find multiple soul mates over your lifespan; some will be romantic partners, others will be really great friends.
