Vegetarian and thanksgiving potluck?

I'm vegetarian and my work is having a potluck next week. Is it okay to bring a vegetarian dish? Family says it's not good to be too different.

Bring something vegetarian, preferably something healthy. People like lots of vegetables with Thanksgiving potlucks. Plus other people will be glad that at least someone brought something that won't pack on the pounds.

I'm not vegetarian and it would not bother me..

Of course. A lot of traditional Thanksgiving side dishes are vegetarian to begin with. For more ideas and recipes, see http://vegetarian.about.com/od/specialoccasionreci...

It's fine to bring a veg dish; you know as well as anyone that not every dish has to have meat in it, even for meat eaters. People do eat vegetables.

Make yams, or cranberry sauce, or make stuffed mushrooms or stuffed peppers-- whatever-- meat eaters will take from both plates, and at least you'll know there's something there you can take.

That they are good for health, however if you are asking which is better for diet in such a case all vegetables would do well

As long as it's not too obvious like tofu and beans spouts, it should be fine.
