Should I focus on show jumping or eventing?
I will be starting to show in the spring/summer and I am not sure what to show in. I have done jumping and cross country for 2/4 years I have been riding and do not know a thing about dressage, but I really want to compete in eventing as I get to become a good rider in 3 different riding styles. I'm about 5'5 and I have a short body and super long legs, not sure if that will help any lol. Thanks so much :) btw I think I would be showing on a Clyde hackney cross, that I will most likely be part boarding.

I think if this is your first time showing, you should stick to what you know and go with jumping. It will help you boost your confidence and and let you get a feel for the showing atmosphere. If you've shown before and are comfortable with jumping, than definitely expand your horizons! You still have a year to pick up the other parts of eventing you're not comfortable with, so if you work hard, you can start entering in the lower-level competitions. Never let the breed of your horse or your size stand in your way.

You should do show jumping because with dressage you need a really long body (especially arms) and long legs however with show jumping you would do a lot better with a short body because that really helps in show jumping and long legs will help you grip really well over show jumping courses but will probably get in the way during eventing but you should try both and decide which you like better
