Does this poem contain anything of value to the reader?

Looking back, I found a fool, now silent

And as each memory plays in my mind

I tried to hide my heart's fragile lament

As truth is the light that can be unkind

Time was passing and confusion was king

To young to see, to stupid to know

Life was a circus, I stood in its ring

No reason was sought, nothing more to know

I see now what I should have known then

Pleasure turned to hel* when that's all there was

When each day was like the last come again

And every lover grew tired just because

I became lost time they dispensed with

A house of glass where reflections reveal

Fallen monuments from memories myth

And illusions sustained that were concealed

What does it add up to? When old and bent

A life lived or a life that was wasted

To travel unpaved roads without consent

And find the sweetest food never tasted

Looking back, found a fool for all to see

It was someone I've known, It was me

I think every poem in the world has a value to every reader. Human beings tend to pick out the things that may relate to them and decipher a meaning for their own purpose. I feel poems are made for a person to read and gather not only what the writer may have been implying but what they themselves can allow it to imply to them from their own experiences in life. I don't know if that all makes sense to other peoples, but it makes sense to me. ^^*

    Fredric

Of course, all your poems are of value, that is why

I come to read them, I know what I will be getting.

This one the person realizes blame-shifting is over

and no one is responsible for himself but him, I

sort of feel sorry for him considering a life wasted.

I think not. He lived it, and learn ed from it.

For some reason the flow seemed off on some lines

but it does not take away from the character of the

piece, and the content here trumped all else.

I read this again out loud and the flow rolled better

    than I thought. My bad.

    Congrats

    This highly complex poem is well - communicated;

My sense is that it applies to all

in one or more areas of our lives Fredric.

Your last quatrain gives much pause for thought

as it tries to summarise the previous very metaphoric yet 0 so relatable ones.

It`s an unusually honourable write though you might not currently see it as such

for it`s balancing the pro`s and the con`s as few are able -

    from a respecting.

    It`s near-Shakesperarean in its` wry quizzicalness.

    I`ll certainly re-read it.

It is a wise person who deems their past foolishnesses -

and I doubt wisdom ever comes easily.

Fewer still, can or will share it. You do so - Generously, helpfully and poetically.

    Thank You.

I, for one, garner much from your work, and I approach it with respect.

    :)

A poem I would be beaming with pride over, were I the poet.

    Your message is expertly conveyed.

Each sentence interlocks in meaning with the

    preceding...and the one to follow.

The same holds true with your stanzas

    Admirablly phrased, great syllable flow

    and a momentum thats irresistable.

A fine poem indeed, Fred...and a memorable one.

    Bravo to you.

A poem has value if it seeks to educate, enlighten, or send a positive message to the world.

Without question, we need only look in a mirror before we judge another. Yes the poem works to impart that message, thank you for the reminder and kudos to you for sharing the poem.

screaming out at me in a dreadful panic ''I've lost Time ''

and its telling me something inside you has died

    Good poetry thanks for posting
