Any difference between religious capital punishments and human sacrifice?

A sacrifice is something you want to keep and it is a sacrifice to kill it lake the a sacrificial lamb that is kept in the house as a pet then you sacrifice that lamb for your sins.

Capital punishment is killing someone/thing because it is a danger to society.

Biblical answer.

"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" A popular biblical passage in the King James bible. King James was really paranoid about witches and wrote many laws that led to the persecution of many falsely accused women.

But in 1690s Salem, witchcraft was a capital crime for which the sentence was death by hanging. It was a judicial process to persecute someone accused of witchcraft. This fact leads me to believe that it wasn't entirely a "sacrificial" event...but more so crime related.

In sacrifice, the animal should be without blemish.

there's no "religious" capital punishment. the capital part is LEGAL term, not religious. our constitution projects us from religious murderers
