What does it mean when a guy....?
Asks you if you go often to a particular area. Then proceeds to say he wants to check an restaurant out in this area. But wont finish. What was the purpose of mentioning it?

saying he wants to check out the restaurant probably makes it less awkward than asking for a date.
I don't know what you meant by "but won't finish", sorry misunderstand your question.
