True as it is an earlier Chapter 2 Verse 45 avoids such perishes.

The Vedas concern is with the three gunas. Be without the three gunas, O Arjuna, freed from duality, ever firm in purity, independent of possessions, possessed of the Self.

True and yet incomplete. The verse paints attachment in a completely negative light. Attachment can be synonymous with connection and life is all about connection. There are both positive and negative connections to be had. Anger, delusion, and the ruin of reason are the result of negative connection, while spiritual growth and awareness of truth are gained through positive connection. How can it be anything else?

OK, object desire. In that sense then I agree with the verse and the Rolling Stones "You can't always get what you want, but if you try you may get what you need".

From desire springs forth anger.

I don't see the connection.....which causes the whole premise to deflate

It's true, the more attached you are to people and things the more afraid you are to lose them and the more lengths you will go to protect them from real or perceived threats.

The God Yahweh established His Mosaic Laws to help mankind control their wild instincts.

Replace the word "desire" with "addiction" and it makes perfect sense.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, suffering leads to the Dark Side.
