Why do girls like tall boys?

I don't think its that important to me. Although, I'm 5'4 and guys are usually my height or taller. Height has always been seen as a sign of power and leadership (at least in American culture). I have noticed that males who are taller in group situations usually become the leaders of that group. Its about being able to take up more space as a signal for dominance and us shorter people accept societies height preference.

To answer the rest of your question...Yes, I prefer guys to be taller than me. (but like I said earlier its not very hard to be taller than me =P ) Probably, because society has showed me through media and movies that women are usually shorter than their male counterparts. (Unfortunately I succumbed to societies views) I also agree with the others that being tall is associated with protection.

I feel safer with tall guys

There was this one time at a haunted house I was chased by a clown with a chainsaw so I ran back to the nearest tall guy(who I didn't even know) and held onto him lol

I'm not that picky though, I'd just prefer a taller guy

I'm 5'4" so I'd say at least 5'6

If this was true then there would be no short people anymore because women would refuse to have sex with them. I think they might think like this because a tall person looks stronger, and could provide protection. Obviously we dont think about this but think back to cavemen times, where only the strong survived.

Height preference for me: Just taller than me is fine, not "under 5'6" or something like that- as long as he is taller than me :)

It just seems right to have a guy be taller.... Would make me feel more protected

Because if a girl wanted to date someone her own height that can't protect her, she would date another lady
