I don't think you should be at all worried, I would be worried if you were concerned about him being underweight.

But at 4 months they do all grow differently.

My niece was born premature so she's always been tiny, so when my son came along at 9lb10 he just seemed so big, and every day since, he seems far too big for his age.

Health visitor would tell you if there was any reason to be concerned. You should be really proud you're obviously feeding him well :)

If your baby weighs 14 lbs at four months, that sounds fine to me.

As a rough guide, I was taught that a baby should double their weight by 4 months, and triple their weight by one year.

So, if your son was 7 lbs, he should be 14 lbs at 4 months, and around 21 lbs by his first birthday.

What I'd do is try to keep his weight gain steady, without him becoming excessively over-weight (which happens so much these days), and make sure that everything you put in his mouth is healthy and nutritious for him.

Would you not rather trust the Health Visitors who have far more experience with seeing other babies.
