One of my clients is not eager to pay me for my work. What should I do?
I am working as a freelance content writer for past two years. I have worked for many national and international clients and businesses, but it happened this time only. One of my clients is not willing to pay me for work done by me. I have written so many articles for him, and he has been holding my payment for past five months saying that his business is not doing well and he cannot pay instantly. I was waiting till now, but now, he is not even accepting my calls. Is there anything I can do? I live in India. Can I file a case against this in any court? Please help.

I trust you have a written agreement with him? Look at that and see how disputes are resolved - crucially, in which jurisdiction.
I think the unhappy reality is that you won't be paid, so cut your losses now - and don't let clients build up a fee backlog in the future.

Don't know the situation in India, but in most countries there is a small claims court you could go to and get an order against him to pay. Of course if he is bankrupt you just join a list of unpaid creditors. Before going to the court you should tell him you are going to unless you get paid in the next 10 or 20 days. That puts you on a stronger footing and gives him the chance to avoid court proceedings and extra costs.

any judge would ask why you took so long to complain.
start suggesting to all potential clients of YOUR client
that he is unethical..............
