Disneyworld distance of theme parks?

I am going to Disney World for the first time and I was wondering if I could just walk from the entrance of one park to another? Even if its a 15-20 walk, that's ok. I can't seem to find anything online.

I'm asking because I am not renting a car and I am not sure what location our shuttle from the hotel drops us off at

No, the parks are MILES apart. Disney World is spread out over 47 square miles. There are no two parks that would be an easy walk to each other. The closest would be from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios, but that's not really a convenient walk, and would take at least 30-40 minutes.

Once at a Disney park, you can use the Disney transportation to get to another park though. There are internal buses, monorails, and boats that are free for all Disney visitors.

Just a word of caution - the off-site hotel shuttles are notoriously bad. Make sure you know when they will be returning to pick you up. They usually operate on a schedule - they will not wait for you, and they will not return for you if you miss it.

Walt Disney World is big, I mean unbelievably huge! The 4 theme parks are very far apart from eachother. You really can't walk between them because they are literally miles apart. The two closest to eachother are EPCOT and Hollywood Studios which you can actually walk or take a boat. The walk between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT takes about 20-30 minutes. I walked between them before, it is about a mile walk. To get around the 4 theme parks, you will have to use Disney Transportation. You can take the bus to all 4 theme parks, take the Monorail to The Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but you will have to transfer Monorails at the Transportation and ticket center. You can also take the boats to Hollywood Studios, The Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT at the International gateway. If were staying at The Contemporary Resort, you could just take the walkway to get to The Magic Kingdom which only takes about 5-10 minutes. When your board your shuttle, ask the driver where he will be dropping you off at in Walt Disney World. Because I have stayed off property before and the shuttle would always just drop us off at EPCOT.

No, the only ones that are walkable are Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but it's still a bit of a distance... save your feet for walking through the park, you're gonna need it! There are free shuttles, monorails, and boats that can take you from one park to another.

All the shuttles stop a short distance from the entrances... don't worry about getting lost, just follow the crowd :D

Walt Disney World is almost the size of the City of San Francisco. So things are kind of spread out. For example, Magic Kingdom is over a 5 mile drive from Animal Kingdom. And since you can't walk the shortest distance that you can drive, Google Maps says it would take an hour and 45 minutes to walk it.

Disney has a comprehensive mass transit system on property. You can usually get from one point to another in under 30 minutes.

disney world is 47 square miles in size.

the only parks you can walk between are hollywood studios and epcot. but you could also just take the free boat as well.

where ever your shuttle drops you off you can get to all of the parks by using disney's free transportation system.

in my opinion you should not stay off property if you are planning on doing mostly disney world and are not renting a car.

Last time I was at WDW (about 5 years ago) there was NO direct transportation between parks.

You can take WDW transportation from a theme park to: 1 the Transportation and Ticket Center -TTC- 2. Downtown Disney

3 one of the many WDW resorts. THEN transfer to another bus (monorail or boat) and take that to another theme park. Plan on that taking almost an hour.

Not only is it too far to walk from one theme park to another, there is no safe place to walk.

Off site shuttle service from hotels to theme parks is horrid.

If you are planning on going to a Disney theme park most days you are there, I would stay at a WDW resort.

Disney offers free bus transportation between all the parks and downtown Disney. Depending on which parks, they also have monorail, boat & tram service. All the stops have signs telling you where to go, or ask any employee they can direct you. If I remember right, you can get this information from the Disney website.

No you cannot walk...but there is transportation available between parks (buses, monorails, boats)

You can walk between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but it will be longer than 15-20 minutes
