Is it true that ugly women are considered competent and pretty women incompetent in the military?

I don't believe so, particularly in hours, some are like models

Both China and Russia have companies of some of the prettiest women to serve almost like hostesses with foreign military visitors etc, and for a little seduction if required

Nope. That is just a stereotype (probably perpetuated by ugly women in the service).

The person who came up with that money quote was a female Colonel in the Army. She had mentioned it in a leaked email.

Notice that there are no pictures of what this Colonel looks like. Therefore, I believe she is one of the ugly ones. </snark>

Seriously though, I have met some incredibly competent pretty women in the military, and some absolutely ugly incompetent ones.

Women who want to be taken seriously in the military (regardless of their looks) should be competent and willing to do everything required of them. (Including the unpleasant crap.)

Those who use their sex (or sex) to get the best details or to get out of the crappy ones are never taken seriously and are avoided by their peers.

Women may need to prove themselves a little more than men in the military, especially early on, but in my experience looks has nothing to do with it. Those, men and women alike, who spend time on maneuvers to keep looking pretty and avoid dirt and sweat looses points with the rest of the troop. But I have never seen looks as such being used to judge competency in the military.

Yes, she's what she calls competent, and from her front teeth, she smokes like a chimney.

It is a stereotype and there are many who don't fall under that category. Prove yourself and you will be valued.
