If mankind has evolved, then why should racism be considered evil?
Isn't the quest for racial supremacy just an extension Darwinism where a group is attempting to gain a survival advantage? For example, non-blacks might make the case that their survival and well-being depends upon the elimination of blacks.
While we certainly are morally repulsed by such notions, what is the basis for this moral revulsion if there is no transcendent moral authority to which we are accountable? Isn't it just a collective decision to be nice to others, which could well crumble when adverse circumstances cause "being nice" to be disadvantageous to "our group"?

Darwin didn't know everything. And to suggest that evolution only depends on the survival of the fittest IE the ones who will do anything to survive at any cost, is just opinion. Many life forms coorperate in order ro survive, they do not compete. And to be honest, what drives evolution has not been fully proven. Within the fossil records every 6 million years life forms make a fantastic evolutionary leap for no seeming reason other then the Universe decided for it. Perhaps lead by the rays of the sun emitting certain frequencies. What made the first fish grow wings and feathers and fly? So now we have covered evolution let us cover why racism is considered evil. Because humans have developed something we call ethics and morals. We are not merely animals fighting for our survival in the jungle anymore, we create art, philosophy and we make love to one another instead of just f**king. This is why we now are able to see that hating someone because they are different is not really so much evil, as just pure stupidity and arrogance. It all comes down to human fear and ego. One who has risen above childish animalistic behaviour quickly sees with their developed mind that our 'group' is humanity.

If we are the accidental results of blind, purposeless evolution, there are no moral laws, rights, or duties other than those that are self-imposed. Thus, racism, casual murder, and rape can be morally abhorred as a matter of opinion, but they cannot be objectively wrong.
In a meaningless world, moral preferences evolve with changing public opinion. 50 years ago, people were horrified at taking the life of an inconvenient developing child in abortion. After the 1973 Roe v Wade ruling and new stylish opinions from the media and academia, prenatal infanticide is widely imagined to be a "right." Only a decade ago, marriage was revered by nearly everyone as pledged mating. With the open homosexualist declarations of Barack Obama, many people now imagine that marriage is any relationship, meaning essentially nothing. Homosexual sodomy is now chic, despite its role in spreading AIDS and syphilis.
We still have a strong consensus against racism in the abstract, but in practice there is a powerful current to denigrate whites as racists, oppressors, and devils, and to excuse such transparent evils as the "knockout game" as a legitimate expression of rebellion and vengeance.
Fortunately, we have very strong scientific evidence that unguided evolution does not produce life by abiogenesis, the complex new limbs, organ systems, and body plans of new species of animals, or certainly, the qualitatively different animal life in humanity. Thus, we have good reason to dismiss the lawlessness of social Darwinism and to recognize the truths of the Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Your interpretation of evolution is what the lying scumbag promoters of creationism resort to in their attempts to denigrate evolution and evolutionary theory.
Evolution is not a philosophy or a religion to be used to decide what is socially right or wrong, or what one should believe about social mores or interaction.
Evolution is a natural process that has absolutely nothing to do with human quests or motives for racism. Evolution is the result of the natural selection of random mutations that enable an organism to better survive in a particular environment long enough to reproduce and pass on the mutation to the next generation.
And then we have @Bill who regurgitates what he laps up in scumbag creationist web sites: "Exactly. Hitler and Himmler both were huge fans of evolution and used it extensively to push their Aryan agenda."
In fact, Hitler got his inspiration from Martin Luther's invective against the Jews, and the Holocaust was the culmination of 1700 years of Christian antisemitism.
Luther argued that the Jews' synagogues and schools be set on fire, their prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes razed, and property and money confiscated. They should be shown no mercy or kindness, afforded no legal protection, and these "poisonous envenomed worms" should be drafted into forced labor or expelled for all time. He also seems to advocate their murder, writing "[w]e are at fault in not slaying them."

And if Hitler got his inspiration from Darwin, why then were Darwinian books on the Nazi's list of banned books? See item 6 under Guidelines from Die Bücherei 2:6 (1935), p. 279. It's about two-thirds of the way down in the document.

In fact, Hitler did not accept Darwinian evolution, and his use of the term "evolution" reflected a creationist version of the term, and he adhered to the creationist view of changes only within "kinds":

The only thing creationists ever prove is that they are abysmally ignorant about evolution and that they mindlessly believe the ancient myths and superstitions handed down from long ago, and are gullible in believing what they the find in scumbag creationist web sites and books.

Because evolution has nothing to do with racism.
We have no more evolution pressure. And it's demonstrably false that we as a species will be better off by killing those who have a different skin tone than let's say asian people.

Would we have evolved if we were racist? Reproduction drives evolution by natural selection. Species that kill each other, do not have a high rate of reproduction, thus will eventually go extinct. Species that evolve compassion will have a high rate of reproduction, thus will survive. It really is not that difficult to understand.

Evolution does not lay down laws of how things should work but explains why things(living) are the way they are and how they come to be.
