Why don't people vote for third-party candidates?
I've voted for the Libertarian Party during every election since 1980- national, state, and local. Why don't other people consider third parties? Also, please don't give me the wasted vote fallacy.
I'm against both major parties winning; voting for either one is a wasted vote. There is no major party candidate that I would rather win. I want them both to lose.

Hate to tell ya, but there is something to the "wasted vote fallacy". In tight elections between the major parties, a vote for a Libertarian candidate siphons off support from the major party candidate they are closest too, in this case the Republican one. The Virginia governor election last month was an example of this. Although the Libertarian candidate only got 8% of the vote, it was enough to split the vote and allow the Democrat to win.
This is why some Libertarians, like Ron Paul, have worked through the Republican primaries. A solution to this could be to require a run-off election if no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote in the general election. Then, people are free to vote their conscience more.

The reality right now is whoever has the most money, gets the vote. Third-party candidates don't have the finances, the support of major corporations like the Republicans and especially the Democrats do. Money equals air time to bash your opponents, celebrity endorsements, good-will messages, internet social media, face time on talk shows, without it, it's very hard to be seen let alone get your views out there.

Republicans do better when less people vote and voting third party is not showing up to vote. I has to do with company money in elections. I love guns and hate abortions but I don't vote republican and want single payer over obamacare. So I would fit in third party category. I will probably alway vote democratic as long as big company can be involved with elections.

Because they don't want to waste their vote on a candidate who has an extremely, extremely, extremely small chance of winning.
You said you didn't want to hear that but that's the truth. That's why.
People do vote for them, and that's OK, but when you do that you should not expect them to win.

I think the majority of people who vote are politically ignorant. They know very little to nothing about politics and vote based on some distorted political view they get some TV or movies. My sisters are one such example: voting for Obama without even knowing how to spell Gov Romney's name. They asked ME to fill out their ballots for propositions and local candidates.
These are the type of people who muck up our system.

Third parties don't have enough money to get their candidates widespread national attention.

BECAUSE THEY HAVE VERY LITTLE CHANCE OF WINNING AND IN MOST CASES IT HELPS THE CANDIDATE THAT YOU ARE MOST AGAINST TO WIN
