Advancing my film triggers the shutter button, help?

I've been using using my film camera for a week already and was having no problems. Well except today. I've been pressing the shutter button but it won't take a photo. My camera was already turned on so I thought I forgot to advance the film but as soon as I did, it triggered the shutter. Then when I advance the film when the camera is turned off, nothing happens. But when I turned it on, the shutter is again release.

Can I fix this alone or do I have to go to a shop to get it fixed.

Thanks :)

Indeed try removing the battery and re-installing. Beyond that possibly your camera has an internal fault and you will need to seek help at a good camera shop. Presumably the camera is second-hand - there may be a guarantee with it.

Sounds like a stuck shutter button. Better take it to a camera repair shot, as there is no easy fix for that problem.
