Building?? Its already build, Right??

Why it is called building even if it is already built?? the people gone crazy :|

    No mystery here, there are two common meanings, a building as a structure, and building as a construction in progress.

    Simplifying a little, the suffix 'ing' has several origins and uses, so is used to convert a verb to a noun in some cases. In that way the verb "build" becomes a noun "building".

    There are three origins of "ing" as a suffix according to the link below, and quite a few more purposes as a suffix. (see etymology 1, 2, 3). Like most languages English comes from many, and more varied than we might think, so almost every word has multiple meanings, and usually the context is used to sort that out. So a building is a noun as in "a building", and building is part of a verb like "is building".
