How can my husband and I get rid of roommates?
How can I get rid of room mates?
My husband and I signed a lease and added my friend and two children on as additional occupants. My husband and I are the primary lease holders. We also wrote that there would be two animals occupying the residence. Now we moved in she allowed her husband (whom she was separated from at time of lease signing) to move in he brought their other child and two dogs. I watch another puppy for my cousin while she works.do all together there are 7 people and 5 dogs in the 3 bedroom home. How can I get her out? She is breaking the lease by allowing her husband to stay here I'm sure the landlord wouldn't give her grief for her additional child but they came her eat all my food and she struggles giving me her part of the bills as t is . My husband and I already were being nice and paying half when we should only be responsible for 2/7 of the bills. She is taking advantage of the situation. I really would like to have this done in the nicest way possible if I leave I destroy my credit we have only been here a month. I'm in gretna la or Jefferson parish if that helps as far as the laws go. Thanks
She didn't sign the lease she is just on the lease as someone able to live here but she signed nothing. The retailer told me he would lust her on the lease but she isn't responsible for anything. From info a friend of mine found out her being just listed and since she hadn't actually signed anything she had just as much right as her two children both being under 18. I can't go to the landlord since I have no actual contact with him everything I do goes through a realtor. I have tried to contract the realtor but he hasn't responded yet.

Secretly contact your landlord, tell them you want to do right by them, but you need their help. Ask the landlord to send you a warning that you and all the occupants are subject to eviction action if the unauthorized tenants and animals do not leave.
You better act right away, the landlord won't bother to try to evict just the unauthorized tenants, he doesn't have any financial recourse against them, but the does against you and you may face eviction and loss of any deposit and more if you don't take care of this right away.

Lets start from the beginning...You & Hubby signed a lease.
You informed the land-Lord that you also would have 2 animals moving in as well....
Then as well...you added a friend WHO SIGNED the same lease & included her two children.....
AFTER you three adults & 2 animals & HER 2 children moved in...SHE has allowed another MAN & HE moved in with another 2 children and another 2 dogs = 7 people plus 5 animals!
Being nice gets you no where and this woman is "using" you as much as she can.......Seems as though she (& her ex) had this planned, since it's only been A MONTH!!!!!
YOU and your husband go and see the Land-Lord without telling your (so-called) friend & explain that YOU'VE BEEN TAKEN for being nice to her in the first place etc......he'll understand (see more below)...
Source(s): Her husband can be thrown out together with the extra children and dogs..........You want to know why? Because he NEVER SIGNED THE LEASE or is paying any rent......She DID so you can't throw her out.........You STAY the NICE ONE and let the Land Lord be the bad one by having HIM send A LETTER that these people who aren't on the lease have 10 days to get out of HIS property. - jean ann jLv 78 years ago
The husband and other kid are not on the lease.
You could tell her husband he and the kid are not on the lease and there are too many people in the home and he needs to find a place of his own for the kid and the animals. That way the woman, kids and animals can go live with him. The man was wrong for moving in.
I would tell him, he should pay his way.
Source(s): The man should not have moved in. He should be paying rent.
