Why would someone just assume someone is a liar because someone else told them so?

Interestingly enough, one of the fictional characters in the Bible (Satan) is called the "King of Liars" by the lead character, God. In what reality would a person just assume someone is a liar before getting to know them based solely on the grounds someone else said they were?

Exactly why should I assume Satan is the liar, exactly, when I haven't even gotten to hear his side of the story?

Religion and ethical behavior are incompatible.

Ethics requires that you recognize the difference between belief and knowledge, religion requires that you do not.

The same reason you should assume insects have 4 legs, and that bats are birds.

    It's in the bible.

God is incapable of telling lies and speaks only truth. God's word is the only one that is trustworthy and true.
