Can you recall a team? (NHL)?
Having such a run of giving up 50 shots in a game ? I haven't looked at the numbers but it seems the Leafs give up 49 or 50 shots in most games lately. It seems every game that an opponent sets their season high in shots against them.
I cannot recall a run of such proportions. Can anyone?
SJ 43 against. Lost
Mtl 43 against Lost
Pittsburgh 48 against Lost
Vancouver 47 against Lost
3 wins in their last 9....you must really be enjoying this "winning thing." No cups since...forever...no Conference wins even...no Harts or Art Ross or Norris or ....you get the picture. The irony is that if you like winning, then you are not a fan of the right team but completely back asswards. Heck, they made the playoffs for the first time since the lock-out last season and only because it was a short year.
As for your comment of "someone not knowing who I was".....ummm...you don't know who I am. Sorry you didn't get your cup ring. I thought all ushers got them this day, especially the ones who worked underneath the bleachers ;) Have a good Sunday
How do you like the analysis from the Leafs fan who can see the forest for the trees Tommy boy? Puck luck. I would love to grab a beer with the likes of you sometime...I know, you don't drink, you're a quitter and realized that the booze just helped you forget things but you would want a beer after picking up the chicklets on the floor that used to be in your mouth...while having bloody snot bubbles pop from your nostrils. Hey, I am just kidding....it would be great to grab a drink and chat my friend ;)

The arguement from the mouth-breathers and other rubes is that "well, most of these shots are low-percentage" which is complete bull because it also means you're getting slaughtered on possession (where the Leafs are horrendous). I'll point out the Leafs are DEAD LAST is CF% (below EDM). Ah, but that doesn't matter!
LAK, CHI, and BOS are among your top four teams.
The "advanced stats" Leafs fans I know (and I'm one of 'em- I've come around on this over the last 3 years) have been pointing this out since Carlyle took over. You're "starting" to see some of the mittenstringers come around on this point which is hilarious (even "please don't anyone mention I'm related to Dave Nonis" water-carrier Darren Dreger is starting to use words like "shot attempts" and "possession" on the air).
If anyone says "well then how are they winning any games?" it's because their shooting percentage is the highest in the league at over 10.5% (their PDO (SH%+SPCT) is also highest in the league- they're tied w/ PIT @ 1030- this, kids, is commonly known as "puck luck" as anything over 1015 gets into "anomaly" range). If you don't think that this number will eventually regress to something closer to the league average I can't help you. Because it will regress.
If the Leafs had Toskala and Gustavsson the Lottery Watch would have already started.

Especially since they are 3-0 when giving up 50 shots. Must be a plan. Wonder what is worse giving up 50 and winning or holding the others to under thirty and giving up 6 goals?
I sort of like this winning thing.
