1999 lexus es300 is getting diagnostic code P1339.?

Just had an oil change, also found that they forgot to plug in a hose for air cleaner.

Just drove 1600 miles home for Holidays with no issues.

had an oil change and now C.E.L. (check engine light).

Checked the codes, its saying P1339.

idle lopes and pre ignition occurring.

Is this something they could have caused?

Seems like a sudden Timing belt or gelled oil problem would be more their F-UP then this car, it is like brand new everywhere under hood.

Just a coincidence I think. You will need to send it to a shop with a diagnostic machine The CEL is on because the O2 sensor is getting a bad reading due to the preignition (cylinder gas is igniting before the spark plug fires).

Check your oil level and see if it is good and ask the old change guys what they put in. Lexuses are picky on oil. Most only use 0W-20. If they put a higher viscosity oil, it might cause your preignition. Check your coolant level and see if that is good. Or the mechanics who did the last tuneup put spark plugs that are too hot for the engine. Could also be just bad sensors.

Send it to a shop first with a scanning machine.

P1339 indicates Crankshaft Posn Sensor/Engine Speed Sensor cross-connected.

But how is it that you were able to drive 1600 miles without any issues?

Its back to the autoshop for troubleshooting.

    Regards and best of luck.
