Help starting a small business?
I had previously asked this question but didn't get much luck, hopefully things will change this time.
I'm thinking of providing advertising services to local small businesses around my city. I will be covering making flyers, posters, banners, bumper stickers, t-shirts, and internet advertising services all at my expense, sort of. I was thinking of charging a weekly fee of $65-$100. I need a minimum of 6 businesses to agree in order for me to make some profit. I have created a contract by myself as well.
1) Is the fee too high?
2.) What are some good points to bring up during the negotiation?
3.) Since I'm not a business graduate, how can I make myself sound more professional and look the part as well?
* I do have good vocabulary skills, own a suit, and have good graphic design skills (which I will be using to create all the ads)*

1.) is the fee too hight? yes and no , you need to quantify the services you are offering (making flyers, posters, banners, bumper stickers, t-shirts, and internet advertising services) , how many, locations, size, define internet advertising services.. Be specific and clear (clarity show clients that you know what you are doing)
2.) What are some good points to bring up during the negotiation? before you negotiate you need to understand the client playground, What kind of business, how ur services will make them gain more business, what will make him pay for the services, you don't want a 1 week deal, you want a long term demand for your services. If you understand the business , then you know what will be the triggers to close the deal.
3.) Since I'm not a business graduate, how can I make myself sound more professional and look the part as well? Simple , talk less and listen more :) , practice what you want to say , live the meeting before you meet, let the client make the sale for you. as i said, understand exactly what you are offering (cost, reach, etc) and understand what the client is doing (briefly) so that you can speak the same language when you are talking.
I hope this will help you a little and best of luck in your business.. Ohh if you have good sample of what you are offering, present it to the client during the meeting.
