Do Christians believe that the Bible is the word of God, or that it has been changed?

Allow me to just mention that I do not ask this in any form of disrespect.

It is that many users here say the Bible is written by men (I understand that these users could be people who do not follow Christianity, could be anyone), but I do not get to hear about what the actual followers say. I would think that you believe that the Bible is true, however some Christians here say that parts are false, or that some versions are false, or that they do not follow it. One user said the KJV is the only true word of God and that the other are corrupt, JW's insist that they actually are the ones who followed what Jesus taught...

I just want to hear thoughts....

Thanks for any answers. Sorry if I worded this strangely.

Peace.

The Bible, because of the length of time it took to write it and what it is about, verifies with past history and fulfilled prophecies it’s truth. For one, look at Isaiah 53 which foretells Jesus and what would happen to Him. It did happen. Isaiah 53 was written about 600 years before Jesus' birth. The Bible contains 66 separate books, which were written by thirty six men who were chosen by God to script His words. This took place over 1600 years and the evidence is in the events and the purpose of the scriptures.

The purpose of the entire Bible is to tell us about our condition of being separated from God because of our sins, God's plan to bring a Savior to die in our place for our sins, Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, that God's prophecy has taken place and about our invitation to belong to God as His adopted children through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior.

The Bible is God's written Word to us.

It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

    Breakdown of the Bible

36 human authors inspired entirely by God over 1600 years.

    66 separate books

    39 Old Testament

Genesis- The creation of the world, sin, flood and birth of Israel who are Jesus’ ancestors

Exodus to Esther- History of the nation of Israel

(This is where many people have a problem. These books are concerning the nation of Israel and God's dealings with them and their enemies. They are not laws for us today).

Job to Proverbs- the books of poetry and wisdom

Isaiah to Malachi- Prophecy or foretelling of the future events to come. Some at this time, have already happened.

    27 New Testament

Matthew to John - Four Gospels representing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ now with all authority in Heaven and earth.

Acts- Birth of the Church (The Bride of Christ)

Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches

Revelations - The ultimate future plans for: The Church, Heaven, Hell, a New Heaven and a New Earth.

JW and Mormons are a false cult, not true followers of the Holy Bible. So anything they say doesn't count for much. Don't trust them.

The old or regular King James translation is a good version to read and study. Although it is not entirely perfect, it is better than all the others.

The New KJ translation is okay but not as good as the regular old KJ Bible.

There are a number of translations on the market that are "okay" but most of them do have a few flaws. I keep a regular KJ Bible on my study desk and compare other versions against it just to be safe.

I have been a Spirit filled Christian for most of my life and a student of the Holy Bible. My deepest desire is to know God through Jesus Christ and to follow him.

The Bible also says to "not forsake the assembling of ourselves together " (Hebrews 10:25) we need to have a Church to attend and fellowship with other believers. They will help keep us on the right track so that we don't get off into confusion and error.

And there are many good ministers on Satellite Dish TV 24 hours a day. Sid Roth, Jonathan Bernis, Perry Stone, Jessie Duplantis, Pat Robertson on the 700 Club and TD Jakes, John Paul Jackson and Marcus/Joni Lamb. There are others, but those ministries are the best on TV.

Good question, let have a look at what the Bible is. But first I would like to add I believe the Bible from Genesis to Revelation by Divine Inspiration let me tell you why. Most people think of the Bible is 1 book but it not it made up from 66 books. Second these 66 books were written over a period of 1500 years. And many of the authors never knew or collaborated with one another in writing these books. Next the 66 of the Bible were written in 3 different languages, Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. And finally these 66 books were written on 3 different continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe. What more these 66 books a common story line, The creation, fall of man, the redemption of God's people, and salvation is available to all who repent of there sins and commit to follow God thru His son The Lord Jesus Christ. They contain no historical errors or contradictions. It true the God gave us the Bible thru men but he guided them each step of the way. Now if you still have trouble believing the Bible is the true inspiration from God, then if it is of from man will you produce such a collection of 66 books with the same make up as the Bible and I'll admit that the Bible is not the inspired word of God. But remember Jesus died so we can have life with him for ever and ever.

I can see how you would be confused reading stuff on this board. All Christians believe that the bible is the Word of God. Some denominations prefer some certain translations but most Christian churches do not tell you which version of the bible to read. That should be an individual choice. JWs are not part of mainsteam Christianity and are a cult. Beware.

if you would like to go to a Christian website that has different translations of the Bible you can read yourself- this is a good one. Hope you enjoy it:

Yes, Christians believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God(see 2 Timothy 3:16). God spoke through the people who wrote the Bible by His Holy Spirit. So God is the Author of the Bible. He was in control of what they wrote. Some accurate translations are: NASB, NKJV, KJV, NIV, ESV, HCSB. The Jehovah's Witness and Mormon Bibles are not accurate, however, because they changed some of the wording. You might find more answers here: www.christianity.com

First, I am not a Christian, I am a true follower of Jesus the Christ To be a Christian you must believe that every word in the bible were inspired by God. As a true follower of Jesus I believe in only his words.

I have done all that his words have commanded me to do, or not to do.

About 5000 years ago God rescued the truth from extinction by saving the only man who believed it and that was Noah. Do you really think that any God who could destroy the entire world would allow His word to be polluted by simple men?

here is our instruction and of course we believe and observe it

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
