which is the best desktop monitor for windows 8?

I recently upgraded to windows 8. everything's working great( i have compatible hardware from a previous cpu upgrade) except the monitor. The resolution is not up to the mark since i have an acer 15 inch lcd monitor. I am thinking of buying a new monitor. Can someone suggest some good monitor specifications that will be compatible with windows 8?

    Samsung or LG monitors work great and I truly recommend having a 20-23 inch monitor since it provides a great and large view for whatever you're working on. I have a 22-inch Samsung monitor, the display is clear and it works smoothly and I love the space.
