Trying to get into Sonic Youth. What should I listen from them?

I'm an aspiring songwriter, and i'm trying to combine Sonic Youth, with early Radiohead (the Bends era.) I'm not really into Sonic Youth but, I have Daydream Nation, and have been listening to the front half of Goo. What do you SY fans recommend for someone starting out. And what do you think about combining them with Radiohead? I'm not sure what it'll sound like but i think it'll be awesome! (That is if i can figure out a way to combine the two.) Thanks guys! And gals!

Ugh avoid. Some indie guy on here told me they were good so I checked them out - very mediocre. I mean, they play instruments, but they don't create good songs like The Beatles or Oasis for example.
