To be brief, in the cap era teams with mature rosters (CAR, ANA, DET) won, then were followed by teams with transitional / younger rosters ( PIT, CHI, BOS, LAK, CHI 2.0 )
GM skill seems to be a critical factor.
Very tough to predict the final standings from what we have seen so far...
