What do the letters "ctg" stand for in the 38 special ctg ammo?

I am looking at a Colt Agent (Mfgr 1975) with caliber "38 special ctg" stamped on the barrel. Am looking for the definition of "ctg" (it must stand for something).

    CTG = Cartridge.

    The pistol is chambered for the 38 Special Cartridge.

    Also known as 38 Smith and Wesson Special.
