Can a non-profit organization write a donation for work provided?

We are a small congregation with minimal contributions. Our preacher has graduated from a couple of prestigious colleges and is a great worker for the church. Is it possible to write a document allowing him to take a tax deduction for the time, effort, and work he provides for our members and the church? I realize this is a truly a legal/tax question. Please answer if you are able. Have a great week!

Thanks,

Eds

Anyone can deduct a charitable contribution. One who is an actual minister can deduct more varied things as charitable contributions. It is not advisable to get legal information from this site,. You need to speak to a lawyer. Or you can try Jehovah's witnesses. They are experts in the matter as ALL of them are ordained ministers.

No. He can deduct some of HIS costs if you are an actual 501c(3) charity, and if he is paid, his pay is already exempt.
