Department of Mysteries questions in Harry Potter?
1) The whole point of Voldemort brainwashing Harry to think that Sirius was trapped in the Department was for Harry to pick up the prophecy. But once Harry got there and found that Sirius was absent there was no reason for him to then pick up the prophecy. It was by pure chance that they noticed the prophecy had Harry's name on. Isn't that a bit of a ridiculous plan by Voldemort?
2) The other thing I don't understand is why Voldemort then SHOWS UP at the ministry to fight Dumbledore. Why? The whole point of his crazy plan is that he can't appear because the ministry don't believe he's back, but then he appears anyway!
3) Why is there a copy of the prophecy in the ministry anyway? The only person that knows what the prophecy says is Dumbledore, and he knows that it's top secret information. So why would he make a copy of it where Voldemort could read it!? Unless of course all prophecies magically appear in the room once made, but if that's the case it shouldn't have Harry's name on it (as it's not clear at the time who the prophecy is about).
4) Why does Dumbledore tell Harry what's in the prophecy at the end of the book when Voldemort can potentially manipulate/read his mind?

Of course some plot holes are to expected, but I'll attempt to answer anyways :)
1) Harry saw the prophecy in his dreams of Voldemort's memories. Harry, naturally, was curious as to why it seemed so important. Because Sirius wasn't there, if he had left without taking something then the DA would have risked their lives for nothing.
2) I don't think that was the point of the plan. Voldemort is of course a coward, he always has his little Death Eaters do the dirty work for him. Presumably, the plan was they would eliminate Harry and the other kids for him (He does not know at this point it must be himself to kill Harry, as that is what is told in the prophecy.) With them out of the way he would be free to collect it himself. Most likely he got frustrated with the fact his followers were knocked out by a few teenagers, and decided to finish the job himself without being embarrassed further by their lack of skill. I think he would want people to know he was back, so they had something to fear.
3) I'm not sure to be honest, it's been a while since I read the book. It is possible it wasn't known to the Ministry to be a prophecy, there is nothing to suggest what is in the rest of the orbs in the room. The Ministry would most likely have top security, but as said I can't remember the whole book.
4) I've never thought about that before. I suppose that telling Harry would be wiser than keeping him in the dark about it, as it is extremely crucial information. He already has basic Occulency skills, so it was a risk Dumbledore had to take.
I have helped to answer your question or just brought up a load of plot holes, either way I hope it helped you :)
