Should the west support Assad in restoring peace to Syria?

I think Britain and American should side with Russia and China to help Assad restore order and peace to Syria.

I don't think we should send troops but we should have advisers and supply armaments to Syrian army to help defeat the terrorists.

Doing so is the only way to prevent Syria being taken over by Al Quaeda and a Taliban type regime being installed. There will never be peace or freedom in Syria if this happens.

The west needs to ask itself what's better? Assad's secular Arab socialist regime? OR a fundamentalist Taliban type regime like what ruled Afgahnistan?

Western support does not seem to do much good to any country it gets involved in. The west is worried about tens of thousand of Syrians getting killed, which is very tragic under and circumstances. However, the US invaded Iraq and killed close to a million people and left the country in a complete mess. 4,000 iraqis are dying every month because of bombings. This did not happen when Saddam controlled Iraq.

Perhaps the west should stay home. Whichever side the US takes, more people die.

Id much prefer assad in there than terrorsits who would use the country to preach islam.

I would support him and the rest of his gang of criminals with ropes round their necks. And if you think he's a socialist, I can only congratulate you on your naivete.

I think a Russian occupation of Syria might be rather amusing, actually. The rest of us could watch and giggle as its catastrophic failure triggered a much needed revolution in that most corrupt and right wing extremist of failed states, perhaps resulting in the Red Flag flying over Moscow and Leningrad once again, to most ordinary Russians' profound relief.

The west, more specifically the USA needs to start minding its own damn business and look after its internal problems.

I think the west have caused enough trouble 'being helpful'.

  • Every time we support ANY country, we are told to mind our own business, and then we're accused of STEALING their goddamneD oil. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

No, we are sick and tired of supporting countries who hate the West and everything we stand for. Let their f***en muslim brothers support them. Ask Saudi Arabia!
