Why are the Irish still killing each other over something that happened 300 years ago?

Anyone would think that they have a mental problem. I mean in the rest of the UK there are Catholics, Protestants, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and a few others but there is not constant dispute, violence and anti-social behaviour between all the different religions.

You're right, it's nearly as stupid as the way that America launches wars against the Islamic countries over something that didn't even happen 2014 years ago. None of their gods exist, nor does Jesus and all the politicians involved in launching these Christian crusades should be tried for mass murder. (George Bush, Tony Blair, as well as David Cameron and Obama for continuing with the murderous and pointless war - and all the other members of these governments who work with them)

They have stopped killing each other for one, but, the problem goes back to before they were even Christian.

They are different people. The Irish in the south are Celts, and the North are Saxons. Eventually, the Celts became Catholic, and the Saxons not, so, it seems a religious dispute, but, in fact, it is an ethnic one, and always has been.

The same thing happened in England after the Romans left - about 400 years of fighting between the Britons (Celts), the the English (Anglo-Saxons). The wars did not end until about 1200 even, if you look at Wales, and England.

Northern Ireland is British. Ireland( catholics) want it back, but the Northern Irish Protestants don't want to be a part of Ireland as they have no money and do not have the same rights as those that are British.Plus the fighting has only just started up bad again after 10-15yrs, although the troubles have never really gone away.

    This is a basic summary!!

As for Wukong....do yr homework u gonk!

Ireland is not part of the UK

UK invaded Ireland nearly 900 years ago, and the Irish have been fighting them ever since.

The religious (sectarian) attitude was created deliberately by the English.

For instance, in The Republic of Ireland, everyone lives together happily.

The Irish republican flag reflects this attitude, very clearly.

And - there is constant and violent conflict in UK because of race, creed and colour. Wherever have you been? UK is a much more violent place than Ireland has ever been - except for the English invaders and their lapdogs.
