Is Truth mystical or simple?

I am speaking of spiritual knowledge here, not mundane. earthly matters that require dividing truth from lies. Truth is experienced through direct knowledge...there is a "knowing" that is based on instantaneous certainty. The ego, however, employs various styles of convolution, misdirection, symbolic voodoo, multiple paths "to the mountaintop," and degrees and levels of interpretation, thus obscuring real Truth. It even envelops its truth in "mystical" qualities, thus potentially drawing an individual into an inflated ego state that sets the person apart from others as having "special" knowledge.

But Truth does not hand select some over others. Truth is available to all. The ego hates this. It attempts to separate special or higher "wisdom" from Truth, special holders of knowledge from know nots, chosen ones from the masses.

The only mystical aspect of an ability to know directly is the "mist" that the ego casts to cause complication and complexity, uncertainty and separation. Truth is simple and direct. It does not require study, rituals, or interpretation. It is available God Mind to our mind, and from one to another mind to mind. We do not have to earn Truth by "paying our dues," nor must we guard Truth from those the ego deems unworthy.

Inasmuch as we are all connected and direct "descendants" of the One Source, each of us is inherently plugged into Truth. Only the ego, with its "mystery" agenda, bars us from our true knowing. That, of course, is the crux of the matter. Ego works mightily to construct "appearances" that confirm the illusion of unworthiness and separation.

The only way to overcome the work of the ego is to recognize its false existence and to deconstruct its seeming "appearance" in our lives. Truth is simple. Truth is. .

Update:

Is it even possible to have faith in "mysteries," the ego's agenda of hierarchical unknowns? Or is faith based on "knowing" with a calm and peaceful certainty, an unshakable and unmovable certitude?

    Truth is reality.

Get yourself a dictionary, you'll find their definition of words is the true definition, no need for you to try redefining them.

Oh dear... we have another 'deep' truth seeker over here. None of that mundane Earthly stuff, like 2+2... cause the Gods only know they don't bother with all that counting stuff (probably because Vishnu and Brahma keep smiting The Count cause he keeps going 2, 2 Gods, ha ha ha ha ha, and they HATE how the sky rumbles when he laughs.)

I have an ego, I can't find the truth...because the ego prevents me from finding the truth... about stuff.... like me having an ego in the first place... which must be a lie cause my ego would never reveal itself to me like that.... where did I put my bacon....

OMG, not THE MIST....I can't see anything.... except THE MIST... the eternal truth of THE MIST... which is allowing me to see it as THE MIST... which... if it was everythign wouldn't be called THE MIST....which means maybe seeing THE MIST lets me know there is something other than THE MIST... oh no THE STUFF OTHER THAN THE MIST is clouding my eyes now too.

My ego refuses to let me see.... my soup reads "I can't see a thing"... I am blind...my ego says so, because its lying to me, because I can't see beyond my own ego...leggo my ego you ego thieves.

To quote Pontius Pilate, "Truth - what is that?"

I suggest that you read the "Cloud of Unknowing" and Joseph's Campbell's books on mythology. Campbell provides a good discussion about the forms of "knowing" and the forms of truth. You might also research "noetics", the study of how we come to know. Some the questions you raise were discussed in early Christianity combating the Gnostic heresies. New research has been published on this topic since an attempt was made to expunge Gnostic writings, but new writings have come to light in the past 150 years starting with the Dag Hammadi cave discovery in Egypt and the scrolls of the Essenes north of Jerusalem. Since then more writings and fragments of writings have been discovered.

Starting from most simple ending on most mystical.

    SIMPLE:

In our daily life we tell so many lies that would be difficult to count, I mean when any body asks us simple question, we answer it very diplomatically, so that he or she could not know the truth and amazingly we even not realize the we have told the false.

    MYSTICAL:

Mystical is the ultimate truth, but remember who does not realize its simple form, can never reach the mystical.

One knows the Truth only when the Truth is in his heart.

The filth of falsehood departs, and the body is washed clean.

One knows the Truth only when he bears love to the True Lord.

Hearing the Name, the mind is enraptured; then, he attains the gate of salvation.

One knows the Truth only when he knows the true way of life.

Preparing the field of the body, he plants the Seed of the Creator.

One knows the Truth only when he receives true instruction.

Showing mercy to other beings, he makes donations to charities.

One knows the Truth only when he dwells in the sacred shrine of pilgrimage of his own soul.

He sits and receives instruction from the True Guru, and lives in accordance with His Will.

Truth is the medicine for all; it removes and washes away our sins.

The Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, is the light of the lamp.

It dispels the darkness from the body-mansion, and opens the beautiful chamber of jewels. ||1||Pause||

I was wonderstruck and astonished, when I looked inside; I cannot even describe its glory and grandeur.

I am intoxicated and enraptured with it, and I am wrapped in it, through and through. ||1||

No worldly entanglements or snares can trap me, and no trace of egotistical pride remains.

You are the highest of the high, and no curtain separates us; I am Yours, and You are mine. ||2||

The One Creator Lord created the expanse of the one universe; the One Lord is unlimited and infinite.

The One Lord pervades the one universe; the One Lord is totally permeating everywhere; the One Lord is the Support of the breath of life. ||3||

I say truth is mystical because in many ways, what's true for me is not necessarily true for you, at least in spiritual matters. When speaking of "mundane earthly matters" truth becomes simple because we have the laws of physics to guide us. But how we view our creator is anything but simple... the God Force is like a chameleon, changing according to our needs. That's why we must always be tolerant of other's views, even it we disagree.

neither, and both, in my opinion.

    truth is paradox.

you say "Truth is available to all"…but that does not make sense to me…not saying it's incorrect but it just doesn't make sense. How can truth be "available"? That implies that it is something that we must seek or that we must obtain or that we must have enough faith or whatever. I dont think truth is any thing…it is not even an understanding. truth just is…truth is pretty much a place filler word for god in my opinion. truth is all encompassing isn't it? it seems to me that the every human being, truly every thing, and every non-thing is a part of the truth.

You can observe the truth, but never infer it.

You may see, but you cannot understand truth.

Truth to you is a mystery (mystery is word derived from the Greek root 'muo' meaning shut, closed).

Truth can move you, when you grasp not for the truth: you can never hold or touch or determine it.

An insight is truth, until you try to understand it.

I think it is simple and can be acquired by knocking, asking and seeking. If these works are not employed I do not think it will fall like rain. Knowing must be cultivated.
