That's an interesting idea - that millions of people who were alive in 1918 will never die. Of course, that means they would now be at least 96 years old, and they would still have to be alive when Armageddon turns up. Trouble is, nobody knows when Armageddon is going to turn up, do they?

This isn't a new idea, of course. Jehovah's Witnesses first came up with the catch-phrase "millions now living will never die" in March 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts with the talk entitled “The World Has Ended – Millions Now Living WILL Never Die.”

It appears the title ‘MAY Never Die’ was used only once on 24 February 1918 and was then changed to ‘WILL Never Die’ from 31 March 1918. With hindsight, they should have left it as ‘MAY Never Die’.

My parents became Witnesses in the late 1930's and they expected to be alive to see Armageddon but died disappointed before the end of the 20th century.

However, the Governing Body has had “new light” and they are now saying that “the generation” alive to witness the events of 1914 have overlapped the next generation so even though the people around in 1914 have died, they didn’t get their sums wrong and Armageddon is still imminent. In 2014 they still confidently claim that “Millions Now Living Will Never Die.” The first link below shows how they have change their interpretation of “this generation” six times since they first came out with it in 1897, concluding with the latest version that was announced in the 15 April 2010 Watchtower.

What worries me is that 8 million Jehovah's Witnesses have got it seriously wrong because 99.9% of them have not been born again (or born from above), are not "anointed" or indwelt by the Holy Spirit, they do not have Christ Jesus as their mediator and so they will die in their sins. I pray they will realise the significance of this before it's too late - either before Armageddon turns up or before they die. There is no second chance to be saved. Please read the article in the second link below to discover what the Bible has to say about that.

P.S. Back in 2012 the oldest living J.W. was Leopold Engleitner - born July 23, 1905. That meant he was 7 in 1914 and 15 in 1920 when the book, 'Millions Now Living Will Never Die' was first published. Is Leopold Engleitner the last surviving J.W. still alive in 2014, or has he also died? Because if he has now died, then we have proof that the J.W. claim that millions living in 1914-1918 would never die is wrong.

They are wrong though, and any religion that would let a child die for lack of a blood transfusion cannot be taken seriously in anything else.

They are not, so the question is moot.
