Dry, flaky cuticles on toenails?

ok so this is gross but i work on my feet all day, and my feet get wet often. and especially in the winter time my skin gets very dried out. i've noticed all of my cuticles on my toenails have become very dry and are white and flaky around the entire border of my nails. what can i do to fix this?? it makes my feet look so ugly!

Take an internal oil supplement, like Cod Liver oil capsules for example. It will oil your skin from inside your body.

Try a mixture of petroleum jelly, lemon juice, and olive oil. Mix it up you don't have to heat it up or anything, just put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until its well blended and put it in a container, put it on at night, when you wake up the mixture will have soaked in to the cuticles (if you are worried to get it on your blankets, cover, etc you can put on a pair of socks), if you want you can keep doing it after your cuticles are back to normal because its really healthy for them.

The lemon juice breaks down old tissue while the petroleum jelly and olive oil soften.

Hope it works for you! :)

Source(s): I did it, also I read about that this same mixture in a magazine.

I had toenail fungus not long ago. One of the main signs is a really think toenail, check to see if your nails are abnormally thick. Also some people get peeling of skin between the toes. Another sign is yellowish tinted nails, could be the whole nail or parts. if you think you have it then call your local docter. I went to mine which she then sent me to the foot docter where he perscribed me medicine that I have to take for 4 monthes straight!! It sucked but got rid of the fungus. also!! To prevent it, after a shower make sure you dry your toes veryy welll. If they are moist it lets fungus grow
