Am I overweight or unhealthy(measurements included)?

I have been working out a lot but i don't see any difference at all. I diet and eat healthy but nothing seems to work, i just seem to loose inches.

I am 16 years old

I am 5'6 tall

my measurements are: 34C- 31-37

I think I weigh around the 145-150 lbs.

My thighs are around 24-27 inches around.

Im have very low self esteem and i want to drop to 130.

I just want to know If I am unhealthy, or overweight. I really hate my thighs, because before I used to be under weight until the doctor gave me these iron pills and i gained 30 pounds. I used to be short and 120. So yeah. I just want to know if I am overweight.

    The reason I like Yahoo! Answers is because people make up such wild answers. Not sure why anyone would ask a question if they want a serious answer, but then again there is a lot of fun in reading the responses.

    Not sure where "Kerry" got that your BMI is 21. It's much higher than that, but 21 is in the healthy weight zone for adults. You should work on lowering yours to 21, or less. See the link.

    "Iris" thinks a granola bar with orange juice has more calories than a big mac! How many gallons of OJ are you talking about? A granola bar with 12 oz of OJ is about 300 calories. McDonald's states their Big Mac is 550 calories.

    So what I'm saying is if you want accurate information you might want to research it for yourself.

    calories is the key to weight lose. Not exercise. At your age and size I am going to say your body requires around1400- 1600 calories a day. You could have a big mac, fries(vegetable oil) and a diet soda every day for a month and a light breakfast say 2 eggs , toast and coffee. you will lose weight. We Americans have been lied to about fat, which our brain needs to function, Good/Bad calories WTF? By the way a granola bar with orange juice has more calories than that big mac! Your 1hr running= a measly loss of 100 calories. Eat a banana after your run and you just replaced those calories...Some food for thought Good luck. I went from 235 to 128lbs in 22 months. I now go to the boys section for jeans! and my husband hands are always touching...

    Your BMI is so absolutely fine. BMI 20-30 = fine (<--hold judgement, read on)

    Men are naturally more physically attracted to good stores of fat because = healthy babies because of more stores of essential fatty acids+wider hips = safer delivery of baby during birth. Therefore men have evolved to prefer a good amount of body fat + weight.

    As long as their is a good store of body weight, the actual amount of weight is predominantly irrelevant to physical attraction. It's the fat/muscle ratio which shapes an attractive physique. A woman with BMI 28 and a good ratio of fat/muscle will be just as physically attractive as a women with BMI 22 and a good ratio of fat/muscle. Weight is mostly irrelevant (unless it's too low eg <20, or too high eg >30). It's having a good amount of fat, and a good amount of muscle underneath, which sculpts a great physique.

    You are a healthy weight! Your BMI is 21 which is in the middle of the healthy weight zone basically. You do not need to lose any weight. If you dislike your thighs perhaps try toning them by jogging, doing leg exercises like lunges and/or yoga and dancing.
