Linearising a function?

Have the function y = 11sin(alpha(x-beta) + 10. We've been asked to make x the subject, hence obtaining a linear function of the type z = mu + b. If we make the x the subject. Does this linearise the function?

    y = 11sin(alpha(x-beta) + 10

    Solve for x

    y-10 = 11 sin (alpha (x- beta) )

    (y-10)/ 11 = sin (alpha (x-beta) )

    alpha(x-beta) = sin^-1( (y-10)/11)

    x-beta = (1/alpha) sin^-1( (y-10)/11)

    x = beta + (1/alpha) sin^-1( (y-10)/11)

    x has been made the subject. It does not look linear.
